U.S. Business 20 from the State Street/Appleton Road intersection to U.S. 20 in Belvidere

As a part of the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan, the Illinois Department of Transportation has initiated a Phase I, Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Study for improvements to approximately 4.5 miles of U.S. Business 20 in Belvidere in Boone County.

This section, commonly known as the Jim Gang Memorial Bypass, begins at the intersection of State Street and North Appleton Road and extents to east and south to the intersection of U.S. 20 and Genoa Road. Funding for a portion of this improvement is included in IDOT’s Proposed Multi-Year Highway Improvement.
